About

Dirtballs started out as a random idea on the way to a fundraising bake sale. I made some simple vegan oatmeal cookies that turned out looking like little clumps of dirt.

On the way to the sale I had a sudden thought to call them "Dirtballs" and see how people reacted. The name made a lot of people smile and the original Dirtballs sold out first, so I knew I was onto something special.

A bit later, I started messing around in my kitchen with different recipes. Our food processor was the real star at this point, because it tirelessly ground up all the dried fruits, nuts, and seed butters I tossed in there.

After 18 different recipes the original Dirtballs blend came together and I was instantly floored by the rich, sweet and subtly spicy flavor. Once the recipe was perfected, it was time to start building the business.

At first, we ordered some plant-based plastic cups and used those to package our delicious snacks. This format had some serious flaws and limitations, though, so we soon upgraded to the current bags.

There are a lot of great healthy food options, but people can always use more choices when it comes to tasty treats. Good food can heal the world and Dirtballs, with their mind-blowingly delicious flavor, are doing their part to speed up the process.

Hopefully you'll love Dirtballs and they'll bring a bit of joy into your life and your pantry :)
